Brief:
Design a portable speaker as an extension of Jamo's product line. The design of the products should lean on two brand pillars: Scandinavian (Simplicity, Minimal, Design, Functionality) and Authenticity (50 years legacy of Jamo).

& Observations

Incoherence in
design language
The design language doesn't match throughout the catalogue of jamo
Disconnection with the
modern-day user
Traditional and reliable brand but needs to offer modern designs and experience.
Lack of interior
friendly materials
The speakers don't look interior-friendly, and the CMF seems outdated.
Persona and CMF plan
with WGSN
The user being under 35, affluent and well-dressed would imply a sophisticated style. Style conscious, but not brash or heavily branded. This combination remains aspirational for areas like Japan or Europe while still appealing to the more luxury-orientated markets of America.

Final design
The final direction was chosen due to its advantage in ergonomics and the volume knob will definitely makes it very useful feature to have.

Attention to details
Ergonomics Study
I modelled a 1:1 prototype with materials that are intended for the final product. This provided a great understanding of the scale and ergonomics.

Top part will work as a volume rocker
Tactile buttons
Easy to carry
